Sorry for the delay of this post... I didn't have any time yesterday. Yesterday i went home late.
So, yesterday was the fun part of POM. We got the chance to enter 2 of the Visual Communication Design's subject. It's called Brainstorming and Visual Sequence.
In Brainstorming session, we were pushed to let out all of our ideas in certain time and draw it in 4 pieces of paper. We had to think 1 object, for example; i chose CLOUDS. And then, draw it into different pictures. For the first paper, i drew clouds as the real clouds in the sky. For the second paper, i drew cupcakes with the fresh cream on the top. So, i imagine the clouds is the fresh cream. Do you get it?
For the third paper, i drew trees. The clouds acted as the leafs of the tree. Then, for the fourth paper, i drew a person that wears a party dress with fluffy scarf. The clouds was the fluffy scarf.
That was the brainstorming session. We had to draw all of it in 40 minutes. It's not easy to find an object and then drew it into other objects.
For the Visual Sequence session, we were given 4-6 sentences from a song. There were 4 songs (different title of course). And we chose one song and drew 4 pictures to describe those 4-6 sentences from the song. You can describe it with reality picture or maybe symbols such as shape or any other objects. I chose Ello's song, it's called "Masih Ada". It was similar with making a video clip, but with drawings or symbols. Of course, we drew it in certain time, 40 minutes.
After joining those 2 sessions, i just knew that design major will be very hard for us in the near future. I felt beaten up after those sessions.
Luckily, we have Social Awareness session. Each class was ordered to bring different basic food such as, rice, clustered sugar, tea, noodles and condensed milk, etc. And then, 15 students from each class had to decorate the stands for selling those food to society around university. The decoration time is 30 minutes and the neighborhood around Binus already had coupons to exchange it with the foods. One certain rule, the seller MUST NOT drag the buyer as if it's in traditional market or Mangga Dua. The seller can attract the buyer with the decoration and a mascot from each class. But, in the end, everybody shouting the people that came into Binus, try to persuade them to buy the foods. Hahahaha...
The last session of the day is the Togetherness. Every class was ordered to have cheer (yel-yel) about their class and perform it at the stage. There were some creative cheering and some of them were sucks.... But then, it's really fun. Just to think what cheering they would perform. At the beggining and the end of the session, the students were instructed to make human waves, but only ONCE! The students couldn't stop though... We made the human waves 5 times back and forth... Hahahahaha...
It was a fun day...
Fuuhhh..... Finally, 1st day of POM has ended. I gotta tell y'all, it's quite boring. I took Visual Communication Design for my major at the univ. But the first 6 hours of POM (somekind of orientation for Bina Nusantara University students) was about BINUSIAN learning, SMART Goal and culture. It was like a seminary rather than a simple presentation. Some of the students--Including myself--almost slept in the middle of the presentation. But, i tried not to. It would be rude for the presentators.
In every session, there was an online post test. That test was made for the students in order to refresh and summarize all the presentation. This test not only for my class, but for all of 1st periode of POM at Binus and it's a competition between my class-ABN18-and the other. We are aiming for 1st place in those online post test.
The only session that gave energy and big laughter for today's POM was a session from HIMDKV (Himpunan Mahasiswa DKV / DKV's College Students Circle). It's consist of Design students and we can get into this circle by joining their event called TKH (Temu Keakraban Himpunan). Although design major at Binus is known for its many and hard tasks, the design students at this circle seem very carefree and really enjoy their studies. They still can be cool and make many events, such as Plaza design and TKH.
This time, the TKH will be held on 18-20 August at "Pondok Gedeh", Cianjur. The title is "The Rise of The Nation". It was said that students will get many advantages from this event. I'm looking foward to it, can hardly wait for it...
O yeah, HIMDKV also has its cheer (Yel-yel)... It sounds like this (In Indonesian)

Yesterday, i went to doctor for checking my health. I've been sick for almost a week, i have cough n flu non-stop in that one week. As my mom didn't stand the sound of my cough again and again, my mom told me to go Dr.Andreas. I've never been to that doctor, although my dad n my lil' bro had gone there to have some diagnoses and prescription. I heard, this doctor is really good, even my lil' bro who had Dengue Fever symptoms, recovered in about 3 days! And he didn't have to go to hospital...
I finally went there. The place is in the low-middle class neighborhood. It's a private practice and many low-class people went there for prescriptions. The place is really simple, not a doctor-like practice. When i finally got my turn, i entered the doctor's room. There are some points that i made me think this doctor is kinda eccentric :
1. The doc didn't work alone, his wife become a doc's assistant. Kinda like nurse. I think it's romantic since they do this work together for a long time. They are an old couple. They corrected each other mistake in the doc's room.
2. The doc is a very strict teacher. He repeated that the drug must be taken I HOUR after u eat. "If you eat breakfast @ 7a.m, u take the medicine @ 8a.m". He repeated that over and over again.
3. The couple (doc n his wife) didn't open the practice at their home. So this small practice in the middle of low-class neighborhood is actually a rented house. They think it will be troublesome if they open their practice at their home. (It's kinda weird, cause usually all doctors private practice is at their home, so it's more convenient that way, right?)
5. Talking to the doctor and te nurse didn't feel like talking to real doc. The first impression u get is u're looking at ur friend or ur neighbor. So, they checked me while talking about the election. Dr.Andreas also talked about how boring being a doctor.
Dr. Andreas : "U know, being a doctor, i always do this everyday. Everyday, from the time it's open until it closed. Do you want to work like this?"
He asked that question to me. The tone is like he's bored with his work. How unusual.... (Well, if it is me, i will. Why not? u already had a job!)
Those are some points that i can tell u about the doc. U'll be laughing if u met them, it'll be nothing like a doctor. It's like you're chatting with ur grandma and grandpa. But then again, they really did their job excellently. They prescripted and give the medicine, so u don't have to go to drug store (their medicine price even cheaper than buying it at drug store).
I think, they did their job like this because they wanted to help people. They become doctor and nurse to help those who are unable to have prescription from hospital. They already had succesful children and a good life, so i think, they didn't do this job for money. They really are loyal to their job. I hope, this can be a model for you guys out there who want to be a doctor.
This morning i got a message from my friend Hendra, he told me that MJ has died. Are u kidding me?! That was my first thought. But when i told my little bro, he said he already knew. So it was true that MJ has died. I ran downstairs and turned on the TV, changed the channel to CNN and it was in breaking news. It said on the screen, "Michael Jackson died after taken to cardiac arrest"
OMG!!! No way... And i heard that he was in the middle of prep for his tour next month in London. Wow.... I know i'm not a big fan of MJ, but i do like some of his songs. His songs were really inspiring artists of today. And of course the fans too.
Many of Hollywood artists mourned for MJ's death. JT said "We've lost a music genius". Kim Kardashians said that music will never be the same again without MJ. I think so too. MJ was such a great n an inspiring artists. No one can copy his voice more over his moves.

Michael Jackson lived from 1958-2009. He died at the age of 50 with an unknown cause although he was taken to cardiac arrest before he died.

I should say i'm so proud of my Science class. We made a very good progress n changes in this year's rank.
First, our school rank in Kabupaten rank (Jakarta Utara) (Don't know the english, someone tell me). Last year, our school's science class ranked 19th in Jakarta Utara. This year, our school's science class ranked in 7th placed in Jakarta Utara!!!
Yeahhh....
There is also provincial rank (DKI Jakarta). Last year, our science class ranked below 100th, 131th place. This year, we swept all the school and ranked 29th place!!!!
We jump over 102 schools!!! Wohoooo.... We are so good!! Long live science class of '09!
Yesterday, the top 3 ranked students from science class also had been announced. The ranked is based from UAN/UAS exam score. 3rd place is taken by Dewi, my BFF. Hahaha, i always knew she will spot the top 3. 2nd place is taken by Yudith, also my BFF. Wew, she is such a calm girl n kinda rush things when it comes to study. So, i never expected her to be in the top 3. So sorry dith, i underestimated u....
And the 1st place is taken by.... (Drum Roll) ARIEL VICTOR!!! Wow!! He is a genius i must say, he's good in every subject, no wonder he is the champion.

The thing is, i wanted to take picts with those 3 but i forgot!! Kyaaaa..... I didn't have any picts with the top 3 students. But then i realized something. About 2 weeks ago, Me, Yudith and Dewi went to swim in Ariel's apartment. So, the 4 of us went to swim. N we've taken some picts after finished swimming!
Can u believe it? I've actually already took picts with the top 3, and i even didn't know they will be in the top 3!! GREAT!!!
